Happy Friday everyone. Another week has come and gone. Where the hell has the time gone? I swear life is in fast forward once you have kids. So summer is over. Sad. Perk up parent’s. Kids are back in school. Hallelujah! I’m sure my parent’s were chanting that when my sister and I went back to school. Depending where you are in the world this could be the last long weekend of summer. Hope you make the most of it. My parent’s are coming out to Poland to visit us for a couple of weeks. Should be interesting. We already have a few pranks ready for them. Anyways, here’s this weeks blogosphere round-up:
Over at the Moose is Loose they talked about the impact of marijuana on the fitness lifestyle. Interesting read. I’m not quite sure what my stance on this. When I’ve smoked weed (gasp, don’t tell my mom) I felt lethargic and lazy…..even hours after. I don’t see how this could ever improve my own physical performance but it may work for others in different ways.
Mark Sisson over at Mark’s Daily Apple told us why getting fit isn’t the best exercise motivation. Couldn’t agree more. Everyone needs to finds there why. As I commented at the end of his post my ‘why’ has changed over the years several times. Now my motivation to stay fit and healthy is my family.
Tony Gentilcore had 32 random thoughts on training.
Jeanne Goodes over at Breaking Muscle discussed gym-timidation. The article was a flashback to my overweight youth. I embarrassingly admitted I too was once really intimidated of going to the gym.
Over at Nerd Fitness they posted a great article outlining how to use primal movement to rebel against captivity. Sounds goofy but this article actually made a lot of sense.
If you’re in need of a little Paleo ‘cheat’ treat this weekend I would highly recommend you check out Jul’s raspberry caramel chocolate cups posted over at PaleOMG
Suz over at The Paleo Network peeled back a few layers (okay bad joke) and discussed which types of onions should you use. This actually was a great article. I never really gave onions much thought until now. Maybe that’s why people always make weird faces after trying my cooking……..
The boys over at Barbell Shrugged posted a great video about mind gainz and the psychology of strength & conditioning.
Although nothing at all to do with fitness, Roman Fitness Systems taught us how to make a damn fine old fashioned.
Brett and Kate over at The Art of Manliness talked what men complained about women 50 and 100 years ago. Cool read.
Well that should sum it up for this week. Wherever you are in the world I hope you have a fantastic, safe weekend.
Keep the blue side up.
