I was about to crack open my second drumstick while flipping through the TV channels. I put the remote down to open my drumstick and it just so happened to stop on Oprah Winfrey’s talk show (to my buddies: I swear it landed on that channel by accident!) Dr. Phil was on the show. Back then Dr. Phil wasn’t famous yet and he didn’t have his own TV show. He was just a regular guest on Oprah’s show. At the exact moment I put the remote down he was talking about weight loss. Now I’m not a Dr. Phil groupie or anything. I don’t own any of his books and I really don’t know all that much about the man.
It must of been his southern tone or the way he said it, but his message went something like this: “Eating and gaining weight is is something that takes work. You won’t loose weight overnight because you didn’t gain weight overnight. Gaining weight is something you work at, and loosing it is something you have to work at too!” For some reason whatever he said really struck a cord. I immediately walked over to the garage, chucked my drumstick out and vowed to myself that I’m going to change me life around……..
Keep the Blue side up.
