Happy Friday everyone. I hope everyone had a great week and you’re looking forward to the weekend. We got some good news. We’re heading back to Canada a wee bit earlier then expected. So far the latest plan has us back in Canada in a little over a week from now. We can’t wait. We made a lot of good friends in Poland. We loved living abroad and probably will again in the future. Home is home though.
I’ve been flying airplanes since I was 16. Aviation has taken me all around the world. From places such as the Maldives to the Canadian Arctic. I know a thing or two about travelling. Sometimes I imagine how airline pilot’s looked in the golden days of aviation. The picture back then would be completely different from today. Back then a typical airline pilot would have looked something like this:
So we arrived in Poland on May 30th. First order of business was getting settled in. Locating important places such as the closest beer store was essential…just kidding, well sorta. It took about two weeks before we were settled in. We found the nearest pharmacy, farmer’s market, figured out the transit system, I signed up to the local gym, Carly signed up to a Crossfit box. Well this post is long overdue. As I had previously mentioned here we’ve been quite busy preparing and now settling into our temporary life in Poland. Are we Polish? Nope. I hail from an Italian background and my wife is from a British background. Too be honest with you, before we knew we were coming here, we could barely point to Poland on the map, let alone Warsaw where we’re going to be living. We knew nothing about the country. First and foremost I wanted to start off with an apology. I broke the cardinal rule of blogging. I broke consistency! It’s been a while since my last post. I’ll start by firing off the excuses. Our family had a lot going on. We sold our condo and our house, bought a new one, moved to Europe (temporarily…more on that later) all within a little over a month. Yikes! Plus I was pretty busy flying at work, wrapping up the tail end of the busy vacation season. I should also mention our son Benjamin was getting busier and busier. Our families think we’re nuts.
